"I am so very fortunate to have found my calling at a young age. That early discovery afforded me broad opportunities where I could pour my passion into my work."

Chris Lagos received his architectural degree from the University of Notre Dame where he studied and became skilled at traditional architecture. He began his career as an intern at 16 years of age. For over two decades he has designed buildings, spaces and products ranging from modern to historic.

"Great architecture and design is great architecture and design. It is not qualified by style, age, or size. However, it all has one thing in common. It originates from the great works that came before."

Chris has lived and studied in Rome and has traveled extensively exploring the complex history and forms of classical architecture. Chris' education and practice in traditional architecture have given him a background that he draws from in designing forms that range from the contemporary to ancient. He is considered an expert in the field of traditional architecture.

"Architecture is not a shell. It should be rich in context, purpose and detail."

Chris' passion for design is expressed not only in architecture; he designs and builds furniture, develops architectural hardware and fixtures, and finds that the consideration of these elements brings a richness of life to his designs. Chris' artistic ability is also rounded out with formal training in watercolour and detailed hand renderings.

"I have been blessed in so many ways. I am grateful. It is not only my duty but my joy to contribute to the growth, joy, education and success of others."

Chris believes that giving back to the community is vitally important.  He currently serves on the Board of Regents for the St. Vincent de Paul schools in Petaluma and the Advisory Council for the Marian Sisters of Santa Rosa. He has served as the Chair of St. Dominic's Buildings and Grounds, co-chair of the St. Dominic's Administration Committee, tutored underprivileged children, and built homes for families in need.

"Although in many regards my work is my life, I need balance. Interestingly, that balance often brings new perspective to my work and informs it."

While relaxing Chris can often be found in and around his little farm; spending time with his family and friends. He enjoys spending time with his wife Michelle, watching his children ride their horses and play with their animals. Chris designed and built his farm from the ground up and takes quiet pride in projects he has completed and looks forward to the work he has ahead.
